How onion goggles are the future of heat vision goggles
The new technology is an improvement on a common eyewear worn by people who have heat vision but have trouble seeing objects they are wearing.
The goggles have a high-tech sensor which enables the wearer to see objects in a much lower light and is sensitive to heat.
The technology is used in the U.S. to help people with hearing loss.
Dr. Zohra H. Bhat, an assistant professor of optometry at the University of Arizona, said the technology could one day be used in people who cannot see the objects in their vision.
“The goal of this is to make it possible for people to see things that otherwise are invisible,” she said.
“And it is very much in line with what the eye sees.”
The goggles, which are about the size of a tennis shoe, cost about $10, and have already been tested in the lab.
A test in the University’s optometry department showed they were able to make the wearer see a variety of objects in low light conditions.
Dr Bhat said the goggles were already helping people who were blind to objects with heat vision to see them.
“What we are trying to do is to allow people to feel the world,” she explained.

In a study of 100 people, Dr Bhatt said the image could be made as clear as the sun, but the subject could also be made to appear blurry.
She said it was also possible to make a clearer image by using a projector to create a hologram.
The researchers said the research could be a stepping stone for the development of heat-resistant goggles.
Dr Hamed Ali, a professor of surgery at New York University, said people with heat blindness were not likely to want to wear goggles, but that the technology was still a great improvement.
“There is a lot of interest in this technology, but there is still a lot to be done in terms of the manufacturing and the technology that is used,” he said.
